Welcome to

The Anglers Arms

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

Our Story

Following a lengthy period of neglect, closures and uncertainty, The Anglers Arms is now owned by Malcolm Readman, a well-known and respected operator with over 50 years of licenced trade experience. He has rescued many failing businesses and built them up into viable operations. However, this must be his bravest and boldest challenge to date.

50+ Years Experience

Big plans are ahead to improve, refurbish and transform this essential community hub and much loved and renowned hostelry in order to secure its future. This is the first and last pub in England when travelling this route to Scotland.

What we offer

We serve specialty coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc. Always popular with the bikers and drivers. We also have the most extensive stock of crisps, nuts, sweets and snacks that you will ever see in a pub.

We serve traditional bar meals (see our menu), our food is served cooked to order (hence waiting times cannot be avoided at busy times) and produce is sourced locally. Our meat products are supplied by a well known award winning butcher. All of our meals are prepared in house to our high standards, we even serve our own hand-cut double cooked chunky chips – TRY THEM!!

About Kielder

Kielder village is noted as the most remote place in England, it is almost like going back in time. Mobile phones just do not work here because of the interference to military devices. Hence, drones cannot be used and it is a no fly zone.

Catering To:

Wildlife

It is the last stronghold in Britain for red squirrels and their numbers are growing year on year – as are ospreys. Which can be seen on the cameras at Kielder castle. Their locations are secret for obvious reasons. You can also take the osprey ferry onto the lake. Other wildlife can be seen at the birds of prey centre or watch in the bird hides in the area. You will see the buzzards, osprey, pine marten’s, owls, kingfisher, to name a few – we even have our bats here at the Anglers trying to manage the midge population. Bats eat their own body weight of midges every day!

There is a salmon centre 100yds from the Anglers and The North Tyne is enjoying the highest numbers of quality fish in history at present.
